Delete Your Data

Your trips, journal entries, and documents live on your device — not on our servers. Here is exactly how to delete every piece of data Your Travel Companion has touched.

Quick summary: Your Travel Companion has no accounts. To delete all your data, uninstall the app — your operating system will permanently destroy every trip, entry, and vault document. If you have additionally emailed us for support, see Section 3 below for how to delete that record too.

1. What we hold (and don't hold)

Because Your Travel Companion is an offline-first application:

  • We do not have an account database. There is no account to delete.
  • We do not hold your trips, journal entries, photos, voice notes, vault documents, locations, or itineraries on any server.
  • We may hold, in some cases: support email threads you initiated; anonymous diagnostic data (only if you opted in); purchase tokens used to validate your subscription via Google Play.

2. How to delete data inside the App

  1. Delete an individual trip, entry, or document: Open the App → navigate to the item → long-press → Delete.
  2. Delete everything stored by the App: Open the App → Settings → Privacy → "Erase all app data" → confirm. Irreversible.
  3. Delete by uninstalling: Long-press the app icon on your home screen → Uninstall. Android permanently removes all app-related data from your device.

3. How to delete incidental data we hold

If you have ever emailed us at support@, hello@, or hello@yourtravelcompanion.app, or if you opted into anonymous crash reporting, follow these steps:

Option A — Email request (recommended)

Send an email to hello@yourtravelcompanion.app with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:

  • The email address you used to contact us (if applicable).
  • Your approximate install date (if you opted into diagnostics).
  • Whether you would also like your purchase records anonymized — note this may interfere with future refund or warranty requests.

We will confirm deletion within 30 days. No verification beyond replying from the same email address is required.

Option B — Web form

If you prefer not to email, you can also submit your request through this page by following Option A above. We do not operate a separate web form because email gives us a verifiable audit trail for compliance purposes.

4. What gets deleted

  • Any support email correspondence we hold.
  • Any anonymous diagnostic data tied to your install (if you opted in).
  • Optionally: your Google Play purchase tokens (note: this may affect your ability to restore your subscription on a new device, so we recommend leaving them intact unless you have specifically requested anonymization).

5. What we cannot delete from our records

Some records may be retained for legal or tax compliance reasons even after a deletion request, including:

  • Anonymized purchase records required by tax authorities (typically 7 years).
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics that cannot be linked back to an individual.

These do not contain identifying information about you.

You will receive a written confirmation from hello@yourtravelcompanion.app when your request is completed.
